Contract of War Spectras Arise Trilogy Book 3 eBook Tammy Salyer
First and foremost I want to that Ms. Salyer for her service to our country. Her experience with combat shows in every inch of this series. The first two installments were fairly linear in the storylines, helping to keep the edge on the action and character development. By the time you get to the final installment you understand the main characters and reading them is like putting on comfortable clothes. More was needed and Salyer provided just that. To make this series work a deeper context was needed. Through deft flashbacks and the introduction of some new antagonists the glancing blows against an empire gone bad is understood and all the inference the reader needs is provided. She could easily have focused on the characters amidst a two dimensional revolt against a central government that has turned on its people, but she chose the more difficult task of making the backdrop three dimensional. There is never any perfectly right or wrong in political conflict and Ms. Salyer crafted a story that leveraged new characters and old to pinpoint the different perspectives of an action. Through the POV of her main character, Aly Erikson, she weaves the uncertainty of intent and motivation of other characters deftly into the story, always propelling you along through crisp action. The final book in the series has a slightly different feel than the first two, but it is exactly the touch that is needed.
If you like well defined characters whose imperfections make them appealing along with an imaginative backdrop of war and peace that is crafted in a fine writing style, then the Spectras Arise Trilogy is a must read. Personally, I wouldn't mind Aly showing up again.

Contract of War Spectras Arise Trilogy Book 3 eBook Tammy Salyer Reviews
Book 3 was a good ending to the trilogy and I will read more of Tammy Salyer's books. If you like action, this will fill the bill.
She wrapped up the series and all the loose ends. I wish Alyssa would have gotten to punch Quantum's lights out. It would have fulfilled my sense of righteousness. I would recommend this book.
I liked the pulse-pounding action in the whole series, and enjoyed this one the most. The rebellion starts at the end of the 2nd book, and this one starts after the rebellion. I like 'fast forward' books that explore the aftermath of things, because there is no 'happily ever after'… life continues.
Such great writing makes me want to read it all again! And I probably will. Just need to give myself time to forget enough so it isn't like sitting through a movie twice in the same day. Speaking of movies, the Star Wars people would be smart to do it.
Thank you Tammy for such great entertainment!!!
Caught from the first paragraph. Characters to love and hate, dysfunctional heroine and hero’s that are believable, great plot. What’s not to love?
Okay, third time a charm. I don't usually like a book that bounces back and forth, chapter to chapter, present to past but I got through it. It eventually all comes together for Aly. The bad guys pretty much die; some good guys too. A few surprises but in the end, after all the sacrifices, we still have love and family. So kudos to Tammy Salyer for bringing it all together into a fine third book.
Well, the author tied up all the loose ends, like the other reviewer said, and I was happy with the ending, but I was also disappointed in this story. It had some good parts but there was way too much boring detail, especially with Aly's constant troubled thoughts. To me, this story was too much of a repeat of all of Aly's ponderings and actions in Books 1 & 2 - too much of the same thing. They have some different enemies, I'll admit, but just like the other two, Aly & friends go on a mission, everything possible goes wrong, they all get betrayed by someone they trusted, they're nearly killed, and they're all furious but helpless to do anything about it till the end. I'm sorry to sound so cynical but I actually started skipping over many pages because I got so sick of all their deadly problems at every turn, along with Alys continuous inner turmoil about everything going on.
Maybe I should have taken a break before reading Books 1 & 2 and then I wouldn't have gotten so tired of it? Anyway, Book 1 was super, Book 2 was not bad, and Book 3 was barely ok. I do highly recommend Book 1, though.
