Order of the Dragonbonded Book of Air The Dragonbonded Return 2 eBook JD Hart
The second Dragonbonded book had everything I love--a dragon, epic battles, elemental magic, assassins, undead, betrayal, evil plots, and more! I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love J.D.'s work!J.D. Hart writes so beautifully, and the world he has created--the bonds--it's so masterfully done, I just want to climb in the book and go on my own bonding quest!
It was a mixture of Tolkien, Sanderson, Cinda Williams Chima, and J.T. Williams!
This was a must-read epic! I cannot wait for the third book...and the Shazarack Chronicles!!!
If you're looking for the next great fantasy author, look no further!

Order of the Dragonbonded Book of Air The Dragonbonded Return 2 eBook JD Hart Reviews
First of series features young reluctant hero and wyvern trying to adjust to bonded status. Young man learns basic magical skills of four types and wyvern molts into Dragon form. Elderly shaman character reminds me of Gandalf.
I love the first two books. I cannot wait for book three to released.I would recommend this series to all who love a great story.
a lot of side stories in the first book slowed me down but the second one improved on this and was a good read, The storyline is good as are the characters, I will be definitely reading the read in this series if the author maintains the interest
Their is a farmers son, he will be a dragon bond, never knows until meting a teenager dragon. A relentless adventure for everyone. Conner has to walk, hied, run and find his new life.
I'm a big fan of fantasy books in general, and this book did not disappoint!!! I was already hooked by the end of the first book, but I kid you not it gets better! I feel like most books get less interesting as the series goes on, so this was such a pleasant surprise!
So many good character developments and plot twists. A lot of, "No way!" moments that keep it really interesting. If you liked the first book, get the second. You won't be disappointed.
I have been disappointed in the third or subsequent book of a series more than once. You start to read a series and it seems great, then it changes to something you'd prefer not to read. Bummer!. I do not think that will happen in Hart's books.
For me, what qualifies a novel or series as excellent is primarily what is NOT found in the text. If you're raising children then you very likely use the same criteria I do - assuming you want children of high moral character. In a word, the lead characters of the dragonbonded story are fully "Noble". I have found that quality of fiction characters to be more rare with the years.
I just finished the second book and wanted to give a review. This book series has potential with an interesting new twist on a story of a boy and a dragon. The ideas of people bonding with animals and how that affects their lives and the way they look at the world is intriguing. But JD does miss out on several things as the story moves forward in both the first book and this sequel. Conner, who supposedly grew up with the ideas of bonds seems to never have listened to anyone else about how they work. Conner also seems to forget how people interact and he goes to extremes from being against an idea to whole heartedly endorsing something, there is no growing period. He offers resistence, as the author calls Eastland Stubborness, and then the next moment he is all in. Conner also does not seem to learn from his mistakes and even though the only way the main character learns is by being put in a difficult situation, he does not learn about himself or his abilities. At the end of the book, he has done something impossible yet again, but he does not remember anything which defeats the purpose of a character learning something. The supposed fact that the newly dragonbonded, which readers learn a little more about what that means finally, is drawn to the aspiring ranger's apprentice continues the fact that Conner seems to have completely forgotten his bethrothal from the first book, until he remembers in the last couple of chapters of the second book. The introduction of the Kindred is very subtle and does not really help the reader understand who or what they are and how they are instigating things between the harmonics and anarchists. You also get a glimpse of a man and his bond who seems to be trying to influence Conner and help him see the potential of what he can do, but the glimpses are so small that the reader could easily skip those parts and the story would not change much at this point.
Other than that, a nice easy read that was enjoyable. Hopefully the author can have Conner grow as an individual and stop being such an extremist in all that he does. Supposedly this is a four book series, but we will see.
